The Power of Innovation: Learning and Innovating Together in Learning Communities
Community event for partners, teachers, and students
Are you curious about the progress of the learning communities focused on energy transition and sustainability, where over 100 students from diverse backgrounds have worked together with companies and government institutions on solutions related to circularity in hospitals, climate adaptation and heat stress in Curaçao, and safe use of hydrogen?
During this community event, you will get an overview of what has happened so far within the learning communities. You’ll also have the opportunity to talk with participants (students, involved teachers, and companies) about their experiences, the added value, and of course, the results during a visit to the interactive market.
Are you facing a complex challenge within your own organization and think a learning community could make a valuable contribution? Then join the problem-finding inspiration sessions, where we will co-create and develop new challenges together.
We will conclude the day with a networking reception to reflect on an educational and inspiring afternoon.
University of Curacao visits TU Delft!

This week we were honoured to receive two guests from the University of Curacao! Both Tamara van Aerden, programme manager, and Richenel Bulbaai, dean of the faculty of engineering, came to visit the TU Delft campus and our Learning Communities 🧑🏫
Together, we explored the campus, met with the students who will start their exchange on Curacao next September and paid a visit our Learning Community in Maassluis where our students are collaborating on a self-sustaining port! ⛴️

Last week our Learning Community Port of Maasluis had its kick-off in Maassluis. In two weeks they will host their first sprint session. The picture was taken in front of the 'Hudson', this is a museum ship that is located in Maassluis.

Last Wednesday we hosted our quarterly Learning Community information market! 6 LC’s were represented to tell the students all about the available case studies within Sustainable Healthcare, Solar power, Safely working with hydrogen, Klimaatadaptatie op Curacao, The port of Maassluis and finally, Personal care spaces.

Een Learning Community is een innovatieve omgeving waar studenten, docenten, bedrijven, overheden en burgers samenwerken aan échte vraagstukken. Zo ontwikkelen studenten vakkennis én cruciale vaardigheden als interdisciplinair samenwerken, probleemoplossend denken en helder communiceren. Learning Communities slaan de brug tussen studie en praktijk en stimuleren innovatie. Studenten bedenken oplossingen binnen een bredere maatschappelijke context en bouwen voort op elkaars resultaten, zodat hun werk niet in de la verdwijnt. Na afloop presenteren ze hun bevindingen, ontvangen EC’s én een aanvullend certificaat.

Serious gaming on the hydrogen value chain

As part of the project HyChain-ESI (https://research-software-directory.org/projects/hychain-esi) , a serious (board) game on the hydrogen value chain has been developed and PhD researchers are sought to play this game and give feedback. The HyChain-ESI project is all about creating methods, tools and policies to unlock (large-scale) hydrogen value chains. The goal is to help Europe develop a sustainable hydrogen economy in a short(est) amount of time. The game is a fun way to explore the exciting world of hydrogen value chains. What do you think is needed in terms of policy and cooperation to achieve a sustainable hydrogen economy in Europe? If you want to do more, you can become a game leader to play the game with policymakers.
